Andrew worked as a defence analyst on contracts with the Canadian Department of National Defence. As a consultant with energy brokerage and consulting firm GCSI-Natsource in Ottawa, Andrew worked on the security and other aspects of protecting energy grids and Canada’s critical infrastructure.
Andrew is currently a candidate for the Osgoode Professional Development Certificate in Public Procurement, as well as holding an Osgoode PD Certificate in P3s (2016). Andrew is a former member of the Canadian Bar Association National Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Section and he has presented on aerospace and aviation issues at a leading CBA conference.
Andrew is a former senior federal political advisor to two senior federal cabinet ministers and received several public appointments from Manitoba’s former provincial government. Leading companies in the mining and mineral exploration field have entrusted Andrew with their government relations and regulatory work in interfacing with national, provincial and First Nations governments. Andrew has also acted for First Nations governments and clients.
Andrew has solved seemingly intractable problems for companies at the level of political relationships, the machinery of government and in court where necessary.
As global events unfold rapidly, with greater changes in the last 30 days than the last 30 years, Andrew presents a range of possible diagnoses, scenarios and solutions in the face of geopolitical uncertainty through his substack UnsettledFutures.
Andrew is currently growing a defence procurement practice, including corporate-commercial, regulatory, government relations and lobbying services for defence, security, aerospace and maritime companies in Canada, Europe and the democratic nations of the Indo-Pacific.
